Carrs Billington Challenge

Young Farmers gathered at Harrison and Hetherington Auction Mart, Carlisle on Tuesday 12th November for the much-anticipated annual Carrs Billington Challenge.
The teams had a great evening, completing 24 three minute games over the space of 3 hours. The challenges included; guess the national anthem, the perennial favourite egg throwing, paper planes, and another firm but painful favourite the pegs on face challenge.
First started in 1991, The Carrs Billington Challenge gives clubs throughout the length and breadth of Cumbria the opportunity to come together for a night of fun and good- natured competition and is a firm favourite with the young farmers.
Paul Dinsdale, Head of Retail for Carrs Billington presented certificates and prizes to the top 4 teams. Kent Estuary YFC were placed 1st, with Egremont YFC 2nd and Caldbeck and Grayrigg YFCs placed 3rd and 4th respectively.
Rosie Parsons of Kent Estuary YFC thanked Carrs Billington for sponsoring the event and Harrison and Hetherington Auction Mart for their continued support of the Carrs Billington Challenge. she also went on to thank the competition organiser, Emma Blaylock and her committee of Ella Batey, Abigail Graham, Meg Harrison and Sarah Nicol. Scorers Matthew Burbury and Lesley Pigg and runner Oliver Burbury were also thanked for doing an excellent job. Thanks also went to all the stewards who gave up their free time to come along and help out on the night.
