The district was very pleased to receive a new trophy this year in memory of Mr Raymond Rowlinson. The trophy was made by Grayrigg YFC members John and Aidan Handley who showed incredible skill and artistry crafting a metal tree stump and axe on a wooden base.
Raymond’s son and Southern District Treasurer, Mr Stephen Rowlinson gave a moving speech, talking of his Father’s interest in hedging and young farmers and he was delighted to present the “Raymond Rowlinson Memorial Trophy (21 and under)” to Aidan Handley.
After a Vote of Thanks given by the Southern District Junior Member of the Year, Maisie from Crook, Outgoing President, Phil Slater brought the meeting to a close. All agreed that it has been a fantastic night of speeches, laughter and catching up with friends past and present.
